Labor of Love

Every gardener knows what a busy time of year this is in the gardens.... It is a" so much to do where do I begin" kinda feel...... But this is what we have worked so hard for from spring on..... Sure some crops are gone, but others are in full bloom..... So on top of the watering and fertilizing, we have the weeding .. Weeding in the annual beds not as much of a problem as the perennial beds... But lets talk harvesting..... I specialize in cutting gardens... with so many fabulous flower and plant choices I choose to concentrate on great Cut Flower options or Dried Flower options..... So yes I am daily, cutting fresh flowers, and this time of year hanging dried flowers... for fall designs and classes...

Fall also brings seed starting for our cool flowers..... I have been doing some direct seeding in the garden.. getting a few things started for next year....

Deadheading is also a time consuming activity... the come and cut again varieties of flowers need continual deadheading to keep them blooming....

My hoses have been running non-stop too, hate to say it but yes we need some rain.....

Flower farming is not for the faint of heart, it is indeed a labor of love... But all the time I am in the garden I am listening to the birds , and for the hummingbirds, you usually hear them before you see them! I enjoy watching the butterflies dance between the flowers...

Tonite is a garden tour and bouquet class... I have a private class tomorrow, then yoga and bouquet class Wednesday night... will be taking the following week off from classes with school opening.... Have a handful of private classes for the fall, feel free to contact me if you are interested.... great group event... to celebrate a birthday, girls night, kid's classes, fall decorating... you name it... for a Private class gather 6 or more friends and we will plan it!

Open classes will be posted weekly....

Need flowers for any occasion? Email or message me.... front porch pick up always an option....

Heading to the garden... so much to do And enjoy!
